Women’s Hairstyles That Men Love

You may spend hours fixing your hair in the hopes that you’ll draw the attention of a sexy beau.  It’s important to realize that men are often drawn to the simple and easy.  What attracts men to a woman’s hair probably isn’t what you think.

Every man is different and while some men are attracted to women who have simply thrown their hair up into a pony tail, others find the color of a woman’s hair to be the most important feature. There is, in fact, no set formula to determining the style that stands out above the rest.  As a rule, men do still favor long hair on a woman above a shorter style. A woman’s hair cut probably isn’t as important to a man as to how confident she is of her appearance. That’s why men may not notice when women have changed something with their hair. Instead of looking at their style or color, they’re looking at the woman as a whole.

Pony tails can be sexy and many men find them to be irresistible. Known as the “Sporty Look”, many men cite the attractiveness of natural femininity as the reason why pony tails are such a turn on. Women who are out to feel good about their appearance in general are more attractive to many men than women who are actively trying to impress men. It’s a paradox, but that’s how it is. According to some sources, you shouldn’t be afraid to wander out to the grocery store in your jammies and pony tail as long as you feel comfortable in those duds.

The color of a woman’s hair rarely matters to most men who simply like to admire the healthy glow of a woman’s tresses from across the room. Radiant color will catch a man’s eye.  It doesn’t matter whether the color is fake or natural; as long as the woman’s hair looks healthy and clean, the man will be drawn to her. Go ahead and choose a color that suits you, but take care of the final result with plenty of conditioners to make sure that your hair looks and feels healthy. Go to your stylist to make sure the final color ends up bright and attractive.

These days, many men go ga-ga for bangs and some women have purchased faux bangs that simply clip in to catch the attention of the opposite sex. Bangs are a big commitment and many women spurn them simply because they can be hard to grow out once the fad passes. But, if you have some extra cash and you want to see what bangs can do for you, get some extensions through your stylist. They can be manufactured to fit your natural hair color so that no one but you (and maybe your bestie) will know that they’re not the real deal.

Cross over to the short side – Oklahoma City Hair Stylist

The ultimate rebel of what’s cool with hair at the moment, Rihanna at the MTV Video Music awards, was rocking an androgynous black pixie cut. Whether you emulate Rihanna’s dark pixie or a boy meets girl crop, there is a similar cut and colour for your face type and hair texture this fall.

If you’re no stranger to a drastic haircut, you’ll love this pixie cut, it brings out big eyes, high cheekbones and a long neckline. Take the plunge and chop off your locks, but before you do think about what pixie style will suit your face.

Any shaped face can pull off a pixie cut, especially if you’re petite or have amazing bone structure. Girls with an oval face can look great with any pixie; however tell your hairdresser a pixie with a short fringe and lots of volume.

For all you heart shaped faces, keep the pieces around the curved heart part of your face short to maintain balance.

Ladies with round shaped faces – you need to keep the sides shorter and the top longer. For the longer faces, keep the top short and the sides longer. As with any haircut you’ll need to get it trimmed every 4-6 weeks, letting it grow, even a little will make a pixie cut look messy. For the best looks in colour stick to one block colour, this will make it really pop.

Having a pixie cut says you’re bold, sassy and versatile; you can have a different look daily. There’s not one super product to style short hair, there are many. Try using a product that creates a soft style with movement and not ‘I just got out of the shower look’. If you’re wanting ‘stand up power’ for spiky hair, look for a gel. Put a little on your fingertips and rub it together to heat it up then grab your pieces from the top and coat them with the gel on your fingertips.

There is no wrong way to do up a properly cut pixie.

Try a styling wax, spray or solid. The spray can be used to give volume to the roots while the solid can be used like a gel to give a spiky style. Smoothing cream will give your hair the sleek look. Put the cream in while hair is damp then run it through and style as usual.

The pixie cut is timeless, think a young Mia Farrow or Twiggy, they make you look younger and frankly more intelligent, and obviously you spend less time in the bathroom.

Threading or Waxing Hair Removal

Time or some ouch factor – your choice:

Threading

Body hair can be a source of embarrassment especially if it’s in obvious areas like the face, arms and legs. This has led to several options in removing body and facial such as plucking, shaving, waxing, threading, and laser hair removal.

Plucking and shaving is tiresome and has to be done daily. For these two reasons, women prefer a more lasting method. Laser hair removal is permanent, but can be a very expensive procedure, which leaves threading and waxing.

Technically, both methods are effective and allow the person to enjoy a lengthier time of being hair-free. So, which method should you select?

Threading is an East Asian method of removing hair, and was brought to the Western world less than a decade ago. The areas that can be threaded are facial hair like the eyebrows, upper lip and forehead. Just like it sounds, threading involves the use of a thread to snag a row of hair follicles, twisting them with the thread before pulling them out with some degree of force. The pain is very minimal and the result is an amazing hair-free, smooth finish.

If you have a lot of facial hair, the process can be slow and tedious. However, for the amount of time you have to invest, you are saving your skin from being pulled every which way, since the skin is not put under any stress at all. As a result, you have less chances of developing premature wrinkles and sagging skin.

You might think that threading is similar to plucking, but here you could not be more wrong. When you pluck, you use tweezers and this tool tends to cut the hair. When the hair grows and becomes visible again, it will be thicker and could start growing under the skin (known as ingrown hair). Threading pulls the hair root out so, when the hair grows back, it is not a stubble.

As for waxing, you need quite a bit more patience and tolerance for some pain. It hurts. There is just no way to avoid the pain. Waxing involves applying hot, thick liquid wax over the hair, covering the wax with a thin cotton strip, allowing it to dry before stripping it abruptly away. Ouch!

The reason waxing has become very popular, though, is because the effects are a smooth finish and, eventually, less hair will appear. Unfortunately, since the wax is applied to the skin, there is significant pressure on the skin, and this can cause irritation and rashes. On occasion, if you have ultra sensitive skin, you could develop pimple-like rashes.

Aside from upper lips and eyebrows, waxing on other parts of the face, like the sideburns and chin is not advisable. Your face is much more sensitive than your arms, underarms, and legs. Of course, every person reacts differently to waxing and wax. The best thing to do would be to test an area before going full blown with the procedure.

The downside of waxing is having to wait for the hair to grow back about an inch or two before being able to wax again. The wax has to be able to hold on to the hair, and if the hair is very short, it will not hold.

In conclusion, both methods are effective and have different benefits and drawbacks, which means the choice is personal. Do you want to sit through a lengthy threading session, or would you rather endure the pain of a short waxing session? If this is your first time to have your facial and body hair removed, why not try both methods, and then decide which methods you prefer more?
