One of Pink’s latest styles is a Marilyn Monroe masterpiece. With much of the singer’s blond locks curled and swept gently to one side, you’ll need some salon support from your stylist to get the right haircut to give you a starting point. If your hair is too short for this look, talk with your stylist about getting hair extensions put in your hair. There are a variety of different types of hair extensions that could work for this look. If you aren’t willing to commit to extensions in a more permanent way, you could get clip in extensions to add to your hair’s length. Once you have the right length and style for your hair, you can use mousse to get the style look just like Pink’s hair!

To finish off the Marilyn Monroe look, apply mousse from the root to the tip right after you wash your hair. This will help to give your hair the volume you need and a little extra loose curl for further appeal. Use a round brush to further add to the volume of your hair as you blow dry. If you need temporary extensions in your hair, clip them in at this point. To finish off the look, you’ll need to use a curling iron on the final stretch to give it some curl.

But perhaps the Marilyn Monroe do just isn’t your thing. If you want to emulate Pink’s pompadour/faux hawk, that’s entirely possible. Again, you’ll need to see a stylist to get the right cut to help support this particular hair style. Extensions can give you the right length if your hair is too short on top for a big pompadour. Once you’ve got the cut and shape of your hair right, you need to avoid washing before you begin to style.

Working with dirty hair is essential with the pompadour. If you try to create this style with freshly washed hair, it won’t work; slightly dirty hair will help work the overall style. Use a large barrel curling iron to give your hair the lift that it needs for this look and then bobby pin the big curls in place on your hair. Apply a gel or pomade to the sides as well as the back to give your hair the lift that it needs for the actual pompadour and then bobby pin the big curls in place on your hair. Apply a gel or pomade to the sides as well as the back of your hair and brush the styling products through your hair.

To finish off the pompadour, remove the pins from your curls and take them down. Then use a teasing comb or brush to back comb your curls. Finally, spray them into place with a heavy duty styling spray.
