If your hair is cut with the wrong technique or equipment, the whole look you’re going for can be ruined in a matter of minutes.

Do you have fine hair? What about coarse or wavy hair? Your hair type needs to be cut properly or you could end up with a completely awful look and a quick trip back to the salon.

Every hair type needs to be cut a certain way. Coarse hair needs to be cut with a razor to reduce thickness, curly hair needs to have a blunt cut to keep it under control. There are several methods to have your hair cut and styled but most don’t take into consideration the techniques used to cut their hair.

Does your stylist let you know how they’re cutting your hair? If not you may have a problem. Keep communication open and find out how you’re hair’s being cut. If your hair is wavy and they’re razor cutting it, there is a problem. Razor cutting can make wave hair completely unmanageable and cause split ends.

The method your hair is cut in is more important than the style you choose. You can pick a fantastic style and all that time you spent taking care of your hair will be wasted if it’s not treated the way it should be.

If you’re not sure what type of hair you have, or if your stylist doesn’t communicate with you about what you need to have done, give me a call and we can work out a time that’s good for you to come by for a consultation. You don’t have to be in the dark about what’s being done with your hair.
