Welcome to this week’s edition of Hairstyles in the News. This week we see all sorts of looks on our favorite celebrities from classic to very modern. Red hair continues to be the color of the moment and it is important to find just the right shade to compliment your skin tone so be sure to consult with your hairstylist for the best shade for you. Updos are less formal and on the messy side while the bob is a perennial favorite for all ages. Let’s see what this week’s celebrities have on tap this week.
Adam Lambert burst on the music scene and has been making headlines with his fashion sense and hairstyles ever since. Recently Adam let his hair grow out a bit and has kept his side part and layers. You can get this look with a bit of mousse applied before you blow dry your hair for body and then a small amount of styling paste to piece out the layers and fringe.
Tina O’Brien joined her fellow stars Chloe Kardashian and Cheryl Cole with a very flattering shade of red hair. This color really brings out her features and doesn’t wash her out like her blonde hair did. She is currently preparing for her upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Tour in the UK.
Stacey Soloman channels her inner Audrey Hepburn with this lovely chignon. This very polished up on the UK star of The X Factor and I’m a Celebrity looks very much like a young Princess Margaret with her chignon and classic plaid dress.
Christina Aguilera had her hair styled in a sleek bob for the 2010 Golden Globes. This is a very classic way to wear a bob. You can get this look with a large brush and a blow dryer. Keep the nozzle of your blow dryer directed toward your hair as you draw your brush down the length of your hair and turn the ends under. You can use a flat iron to get your hair smooth and sleek and under turn the ends.
Kate Winslet gives a nod to stars of old with a classic retro style. To get this look set your hair in hot rollers. After you remove them let your hair cool and use a styling brush to get this smooth look with a bit of waves and curls. Hold it in place with a medium hold styling spray and you’re ready to step out for the night.
Hillary Duff is wearing one of the hottest trends this season, a Black Swan inspired bun. This is the perfect look for a night out or a day about town. A bit more loose than a traditional bun, this style is easy to wear and looks great.
Rihanna has switched up her looks yet again with long straight locks that are still red, but with a darker almost violet color underneath and on the ends. Two tone hair is also another hot trend and runs the color spectrum from light blond with dark ends to this lovely combination of reds.
Twilight Star Kellan Lutz was seen recently with a trendy hairstyle for men, a slicked back look that is reminiscent of the styles of the 1920’s. This is a bit of a stark look, but the gorgeous hunk seems to be carrying it off rather well.
That’s it for this week. Don’t forget if you see a look you want to try out ask your stylist to tailor it to your face shape and lifestyle. Pick up the professional products she recommends to keep your new do looking great and long lasting.
