Removing Unwanted Hair Safely and Simply

There are a variety of different ways to remove unwanted hair, but not all of them are available to you through a salon. For ladies who have hair removal needs and don’t want to take the time or spend the money on going to a medical professional for hair removal, there are plenty of palatable salon options available. Hair removal at the salon generally involves tried-and-true methods that have few or no side effects. The most popular ones to consider are electrolysis, waxing, and threading.

Electrolysis has been around a long time. There are several different formats that can be used to electrocute the hair follicles, but the idea behind the process is the same. Send electrical energy into the hair follicle to kill it. Then the hair will stop growing. And the best part of electrolysis is that the results are mostly permanent. One type of electrolysis makes use of a very tiny needle that’s slid into the hair shaft alongside growing hair. Then, an electric current is sent down to the root. A tweezers is used to remove the hair. Of course, the down-side to this type of treatment is how long it takes to do a large area. Each hair follicle must be treated separately, one-by-one. But the results can be worth it if you want permanent results.

Using a special type of tweezers, it is also possible to remove unwanted hair permanently. Using this type of treatment, the tweezers grasp the hair close to the skin and then electrical current is administered. The electricity travels down the hair shaft into the root to permanently destroy the hair-producing follicle. Unfortunately, though this electrolysis process seems less arduous, the results aren’t in yet as to whether or not this type of process actually works.

If you’re not willing to make multiple appointments for electrolysis, then waxing or threading may be a better choice for you. Results from this type of treatment is longer-lasting than what you’d get from depilatories or creams and they don’t take a lot of time to complete. Waxing is a straightforward process. A layer of melted wax is applied to the area where hair is to be removed. As the wax cools, it hardens around the hair. The wax is then ripped off the skin, taking the unwanted hairs along with it.

Threading is similar to plucking but without the tweezers. A thread is wrapped around each hair to remove them one by one. Someone who is skilled at the process can do it relatively quickly and just like waxing, the results last for a week or more, depending on how fast your hair grows back. For those who aren’t especially comfortable with waxing, threading may be the best alternative.
