Autumn NYC Color Trends For Trendsetters

While preparing for our autumn rush, we’ve been tracking all the dazzling hair tones walking out of NYC’s apex toning points; and what we found are mixes of diverse and cool hues outing in the city’s most trendsetting hangouts.

Normally, autumn color trends hinge on migration techniques — going from sun kissed to a one-color blonde or moving from highlights to balayage.

However, this fall is all about unearthing a modern, well-mixed color. Think of a cool-girl, yellow-red blond with golden highlights and blends of warm cafe barbs lined with plush caramel ends, and you’ll be on the right track.

Inspiring? Well, here’s another perk, your stylist can easy create your tonal makeover for the fall without having to do a complete color overhaul.

So, ya’ wanna know what’s new in East Coast haircolor trends — it’s all about mixed tones…..

Copper-Dawn

red hair photoWhat To Ask For: A spacious copper-crimson tone along with intense cherry and orange undertones.

This is an intense, bold red color that needs some careful blending and correct tonal disparity to make it look calm, light, and contemporary.

Likewise, the roots are kept slightly darker for a more innate and reasonable grow-out. This means your colorist will place a color on your roots that closely matches your natural shade.

Sundry Metals

What To Ask For: Some unruffled highlights over your natural color.

This color trend is more the the younger crowd. A metal sundry owns high-contrast and mostly resembles surfer hair.

Your colorist will piece together highlights of light-cool, silvery tones, after adding a hair perfector product to the mane. This process will help match your natural color with the metallic highlights for an ideal ombré grow out.

Bright Bronze

What To Ask For: A tepid, russet base with tanned-caramel ends.

This hue is a rich brown color with a tad of bronze dazzle in the mix. Here, think of a light-bronze base tone with balayage on the ends.

Bright bronze is also low maintenance; one can go without needing a highlight touch-up for at least six weeks after their initial appointment. Even after two months, changes in an untouched mane’s color are hardly noticeable.

Platinum Ice

What To Ask For: A sub-zero, pallid blond without ash.

Today’s strong platinum is a simple icy color, and the secret to going mainstream on this hue is to know that no ashy undertones are allowed.

After leaving the chair, remember that chlorine products or pool water on the hair is a big “no-no,” which means that you might have to invest in a water filter for washing and conditioning at home.

Upkeep will depend on grow out; one should plan for monthly “root” touch-ups when sporting platinum ice, since letting the mane grow without maintenance may result the in locks acquiring a yellowish hue.

Dreamy Shag Cuts For The Holidays

Our last post summarized NYC’s fab-color schemes for the fall; so, let’s keep going on this idea, and dig into NYC’s most modish cuts for autumn.

Fall hair trends have arrived early this season, and while you may find a lot of rounded cuts, uneven bobs, and undersized pixies out there, the majority of what we’re seeing leaving the City’s most posh salons has been heavily influenced by the shag.

Remember, a shag cut is a hairstyle that’s layered and feathered at the top and sides at random lengths. It forms a full crown and thins-out around the edges.

Today, there are tons of shag options to choose from that work just as well on people as they do on pop stars, and the good news is, the new shag also nurtures to hair texture of any kind.

Sound good? Let’s check out some rad NYC-shags, and discover if one of them could work for you…

Wispy-Bang Shag

trendy hair photo

This style is called the coolest cut in NYC by the trendsetters.  It’s very sexy and rock-and-roll at the same time.

The theme is simple–a layered shag with flyaway bangs that are conical and bulky on the sides.

Loose curls or straight or wavy hair texture will energize this style’s allure, that begins by adding some salt spray product to the locks to bring out the mane’s “natural texture” before the haircut.

Mid-Length Shag: Uneven Layers

Women love this versatile mid-length cut just because it’s cool, this shag will work for any hair texture, as long as your stylist cuts the layers longer on the side and keeps the locks at chest level.

Doing so will flaunt your hair’s natural texture, giving it a loosely-fallen, air-dry look with some soft choppy layers.

Textured Shag: Petite-Dull Bangs

Do you want some drama in your look without some serious chopping? — well then, seriously consider this trendy mod.

The cut creates more of an edge by going with layers, but disrupting the look with some petite-blunt baby bangs, which MUST be cut absolutely straight (not tapered) to keep the style clean and contemporary.

Here, your stylist will air-dry the locks and wrap-dry the fringe to guarantee some voluptuous bangs that fall straight down.

Short Shag: Smoothed layers

Women with curly hair are not left out, here. This shag cut will add some bounce to your swirls style simply by performing a soft chop to form a bob with rounded layers.

A face-framing fringe will usually accompany the short shag, as well, which will structure the outside curls into perfect no-frizz form.

Square Shag: Layered Bob

Let’s stay in the wavy lane, and talk about the square shag, which works for every type of curl.

This cut forms a completely-balanced shape by adding a layered bob to the quadrangle mix and leaving a few random stands to create a light fringe.

Your stylist should cut up into the bangs, and NOT straight across, so that the fringe run unpretentiously with the rest of the hair.

Seberg-Pixie Shag

This is a “contemporary-woman” chop for the daring person who avoids the long hair look. A Seberg pixie broadcasts both your face and skin tone, and brings some feminine-masculinity into your overall look.

After leaving the chair, you’ll also want to grab some salon-style, light wax or pomade to upkeep the hair’s separation and lock slicing at home.

Four Pro-Hacks For Creating Thick Hair Impressions

Why do we always desire the things we can’t have?

Think about for a sec … those with thin hair yearn for thicker locks, though folks who own thick manes crave thinner strands when styling.

Out of the two mentioned above, it seems that people with fine strands own the foremost hair troubles, only because their locks are either super smooth, very thin or mega comatose.

Well, if you’re in the latter category, you can breathe a little easier because while a pro-stylist can’t alter your hair’s natural texture, he or she can make your tresses look thicker than they really are.

This week, let’s talk about the four “DOs” for folks with fine locks: dupe-cutting, dupe-coloring, pre-styling, and dupe-styling; all fixes that provide people with thin hair something that they actually CAN HAVE.

glamorous photoDupe-Cutting

Stylists create illusions all time on thin hair, and it all begins with a simple trim. Here, your professional will attempt to maintain as much weight as possible on the existing locks to give them a fuller voluminous impression.

Your cut should own a sturdy base line and possess some flawless, sharp edges. Just remember that there is no layering on cuts for thin hair, since it’s hard to obtain styling volume when the mane is layered too short.

Nevertheless, you can still go petite; adding some product to super-short, fine hair creates superfluous texture and height illusions as well.

Dupe-Coloring

Hair tone selection also swindles people into believing that the locks are naturally thick. However, this doesn’t mean that you should perform an all-in-one coloring job, which will actually remove texture on fine hair and flatten the mane’s appearance.

Here, what we’re talking about is including a few dim plates or low lights to the hue to assist in creating extra depth and dimension.

For example, darker flaxen hues throughout a blonde mane will make those one-color tresses appear multi-dimensional and especially thick.

Pre-Styling

Believe it or not, vintage Velcro rollers work wonders on thin hair texture. What these pre-styling tools do is they lift up the mane’s roots before any styling action takes place.

And so, your stylist will most likely enfold your top locks with rollers while the hair is damp. Once the mane is semi-dry, the rollers come off, and the tresses will be set in an elevated position for adding more volume later.

The pros also use pre-styling conditioning products and reverse shampoo procedures to get the hair ready for some extra volume; hence, volumizing occurs long before you even leave the washing table.

Dupe-Styling

Pre-styling fine hair makes hot tool application much easier for the professional. It gives those large round brushes, styling wands and blow dryers some extra power in creating even more volume then if the locks were just cut and colored.

Styling fine hair is all about creating volume with hot air at the roots and lifting the strands before applying other hot tools. Bear in mind that styling wands and irons offer those with thin hair some subtle curls and delicate waves for most-desired movement.

Finally, a blast of cool air sets in place the other previously mentioned “DOs” for an absolute facade of thicker hair.

Candid Mini-Makeover Ideas Direct From Social Media

The “I’m-bored-with-my-hair” jitters may be hitting you this pre-autumn after realizing that January’s makeover has worn out its welcome and March’s highlights are nowhere to be seen, right?

Don’t worry; if you’re considering a mini-makeover before the New Year rings in, but are confused on where to start searching for inspiration, we’ve tracked social media posts this week to look for some minute overhaul ideas to arouse your attention…

bob hair photo

Faux Bob

Actresses, Emma Watson and Cate Blanchett are the rulers of the faux bob look. Most of the time, we’ll spot these women rocking some ravenous curls with their bobs, while other Instagram posts have the actresses playing the tucked-in turtleneck game, which works well too.

Cinnamon-Twist Tone

Have you seen Drew Barrymore’s new cinnamon-twist colored hair on Facebook?

Her novel hue may resemble a scrumptious doughnut, but be sure that the twists and swirls of this eye-candy color make heads turn in a “whiplash” kind of way.

Back-Sweeping Bun

If you want to go casual, the back-sweeping bun is one way to go for emitting a chic surfer-girl vibe.

Here, your stylist will cut the locks long, loose and low, allowing the layers to fall out naturally; and thanks to Kylie Jenner’s half-up, half-down display on Pinterest, we have a good portrait of what this new mod level is really about.

Layered Bangs

As if we didn’t love Emma Stone enough already, her pre-fall, Twitter-posting, mane game has raised the bar on the old-feathered layer look.

Now, it may be true that she who holds bangs will embrace a high-maintenance vex, but with today’s layered bangs, it’s all about messy, and that’s the kind of fringe we professionals just love to offer our clients.

Progressive Pigtails

Jennifer Love Hewitt move over, if you own some lengthy locks, why don’t you have your stylist double-braid some pigtails?

And while you’re at it, have him or her cut a relaxed fringe to make the tails more progressive. This is a perfect pre-fall look for folks who hate hair sticking to their heads during the Indian-summer heat.

Frosted Ends 2.0

In 2000, frosted ends took on an over-highlighted bad rap.

Fortunately, actress, Jennifer Lawrence, revamped a 2.0 version, taking frosted ends to hip form at this year’s Golden Globes, after she highlighted her mane with some pearl blonde hue to add a little dimension.

2016 Fem-Curtains

Curtains aren’t just for 90s men anymore. The Instagram, female mode of this old boy-heartthrob look is messier and more scandalous than its male counterpart. Taylor Swift was seen flaunting her 2016 curtains at this year’s AMAs.

Revised Jenny-Hair

And staying in the 90s, anyone who was anyone back then just had to own Jennifer Aniston hair.

Today, it’s still an avant-garde cut for women who desire some silky, full-bodied, face-framing tresses. However, today’s Jenny-hair is much more urbane and classy; just ask socialite Nicole Richie about it.

Messy Bun

Country singer Carrie Underwood posts her messy bun all over her Facebook page. The modern version of this ‘do involves some professional, super-loose styling to get the twisted bun put together just right.

Five Reasons To Go Golden-Red This Fall

Move over rainbow pastel — there’s a novel, gem-inspired haircolor movement taking over on the West Coast — and this trend is just as alluring.

Everyone knows that golden-red is one of the must-have shiny colors we procure when looking for polished trinkets (not to mention that it’s also the sparkle that we most desire for covering up our e-gadgets).

Now, this hue is becoming the most Pinterest-posted hair color displayed on the Internet this pre-fall season.

Let’s see why…

short hair photoONE:  The trend never seems to end.

There are probably some skeptics out there who may clam that golden-red is nothing new, after seeing actress, Hilary Duff, debut her “sunset red” shade last spring at the Grammys and spotting Amanda Seyfried flaunting the hue in June.

But removing the celebrities from the hair color spotlight, we colorists feel that golden-red will always own some extra-long legs.

Why? Well, simply because this laid-back color— which exactly resembles the glow that’s radiated at the beginning of a California sunset — looks fantastic on all complexions.

TWO:  The tone works for everyone.

Think of “bling” but add a softer touch to it, and what you’ll have is an all-for-one color with a creative tone.

This means that skin complexion is a not a matter of concern for those who desire a golden-red mane.

Women of all ages can rock this trendy hue too, whether you’re a young student graduating from law school or a sixty-year-old, in-vogue lady at the beach, with tattoos and all, this tone suits anyone.

THREE:  The color is viable.

Further, as far as eccentric color goes, golden-red’s softer shade yields super practical benefits.

There’s no worrying about whether or not you can wear this hue at the office; golden-red is a completely acceptable hair color in any professional work environment.

FOUR:  The hue facilitates easy makeovers.

It’s also a great transition color for folks who wish to go darker in the short-term. Essentially, golden-red tone is a pale hue that naturally fades back to its lighter shade after a few weeks.

Hence, there really is no big commitment, here, and the harmless process of achieving the hue is as simple as just lifting the locks to a darker blond.

FIVE:  The shade works year round.

As mentioned earlier, this color is owns boundless fashion-life; however, those who wish to keep their mane golden-red in the long-term must know that it will entail some commitment.

Hence, his hue is not chic-hair for the indolent person. The natural-highlighting tone will need some patience and vigor for maintaining its lighter shade.

This means that regular salon visits will be necessary, and owners will need to invest in pro-hydrating, color-safe products to extend the color’s lifespan.

The Fearless Cut Guide To Owning Shorter Hair

Exploring short haircuts can be either enjoyable and exciting…or totally frightening. Most people fall into the second group because they’ve owned their long hair for like…forever.

We’re here this week to take the terror out of the chop by discussing some “fearless short cuts” that are notably undersized, but carry off the perks of their longer-haired version.

More importantly, these cuts can offer women the same sexy, alluring, and edgy feeling that accompanies fantastic long haircuts.

Now, some may not be ready to take the plunge. But let’s face it — when you’re ready, you’re ready— and if this sounds like you, read on about how to handle big chops with ease.

Fearless short cuts defined…

A “fearless short cut” isn’t what you own but only shorter.

Instead, it’s a skillfully chosen style that harmonizes with your current design. It’s also a cut that offers you the power to remake yourself everyday.

The holy trinity of short cuts…

Stylist discovered years ago that chopping fears arise from taking massive leaps from long hair to short hair. To ease this pain, we needed to discover an entryway answer into the realm of short styles.

Hence, the pros established three fundamental cuts—the bob, the short bob and the lob—which opened the door to a variety of chic-cluster styles and eliminated the fear of going under the scissors.

Actress, Jennifer Lawrence, streamlined the A-line bob after using the design to transition from long to short effortlessly between films. If you recall, in 2012, she flaunted some extra-long, chunky layers.

Sometimes, layers can trap women into keeping their long hair because the locks look terrific, and they’re so easy to style.

The A-line bob is a cut that simply lifts up the length so that the bottom layers reside closer to the shorter ones.

This design gives the bob a well-built edge, and allows A-line flaunters to keep most of a long-layer’s “fringe benefits” with an added plus of going for the messy, lived-in look whenever duty calls.

short hair photoShort Bob:  Blunt

If sleek, lengthy hair is your thing, you can pull off the same allure by going for a blunt bob with a strong fringe.

Silky hair is an eye-catching ornament in long hair mode, and blunt bobs, by and large, carry on this arresting feature.

Think about how Taylor Swift uses her bob-and-fringe as a hair accessory rather than a haircut, and you’ll kind of get an idea of what we’re talking about, here.

Lob:  Short-Layered or Shaggy

Are you still afraid of the chop? Don’t worry, let’s see how the classic lob segues into a fearless short cut.

A lob is both a haircut and a design, all in one. The cut provides a means for all lob holders to style their hair any way they please (ponytail or bun); and the short-layered version of this cut is no different.

Short-layered lob owners can wear their locks wavy via air-drying or silky-straight with some hot tool assistance. These lobs can also transform complicated texture into more pliable hair by length and density dispensation.

Likewise, the shag version offers folks lots of movement and shape, which is what people with long-layered cuts yearn for.

Most of a short-shag’s movement will hail from the addition of side-swept bangs; just be sure that your stylist thins the bangs slightly enough so that they part on the side impeccably.

Mature Gray Shades in 2016 Pop-Life

Because we all somehow seem to relate gray hair to aging, most mature folk prefer to hide their white locks, thinking that doing so will give them a more youthful appearance.

Maybe this concept is true, but we must exclude the twenty-something pop-stars out there, today, who implore their colorists to go silver.

So what’s up with that?

Today, let’s talk about gray tones, and how mature women in 2016 are wearing them.

trendy woman photo

Hoary-gray is in.

Hoary-gray is a seasonal hue that colorists deem to be both adult and in-vogue.

Young actress, Kori Hendrix, showed off some hoary-gray locks at this year’s Olympics in Rio; moreover, the mature Helen Mirren flaunted this same shade at the London’s National Theater earlier this year.

This tells us that hoary-gray is definitely becoming a fad tone for women of all ages, which is a good heads up for those looking forward to next season’s trends.

Salt-and-pepper hair shines in the daylight.

Your name doesn’t have to be Jamie Lee Curtis for you to look incredible with showers of salt-and-pepper hues in the mane. The year 2016 presents a twist to this traditional shade by blending those random clusters of natural gray you own into a pop-pleasing darker shade.

What your stylist will be shooting for are chic streaks with strategic highlights, which he or she can accomplish by lightening the off-strands to create ribbons of gorgeous silver and black locks.

Purple-Gray shades love risk-takers.

Purple gray locks are as attention-grabbing as platinum-blonde tresses, and there is no rule that says you can’t spice up your grey hair with a little modern color.

Those who choose this risqué hue should know, beforehand, that your hair will become a focal point in your overall appearance.8

Further, these locks will require some regular deep-conditioning treatments to add violet-shine and to help smooth out the whiter cuticles.

One may also consider adding highlights or lowlights to purple-gray color for some extended volume and texture.

White-Silver hues beware.

White-silver is the answer that most clients seek, both young and old, when going for the all-gray look. That being said, even though this shade is most popular, it’s not for everyone.

White-silver hair doesn’t always complement warm skin tones; hence, those with yellow or olive complexions beware.

Also, this hue does not harmonize well with thinning locks, unless the cut is short (we never want to make superfine hair look thinner).

Finally, frizzy tresses with flyaway strands will make gray appear even grayer, which is what we don’t want in 2016.

Thus, if frizz control is a problem, you may want to consider a darker, sleeker shade for a fuller profile.

Gettting A Jump-Start On Fall Hair Trends

There’s something about the end of summer that makes us want to call our stylist and set an appointment before the fall festivities begin.

Let’s see now, we got the Halloween bash, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year all lumped into one season.

Last year, we talked about autumn’s lazy-girl texture fad; well, this fall is a whole new ball game, and we stylist are totally psyched.

short hair photoGeo-Shaped Hair

Big bold shapes and eccentric lines will engulf super-clean, blunt cuts across the board this autumn.

We expect women with natural-textured hair next season to seek some awe-inspiring, triangular shapes or blunt fringes with eye-catching contours.

HINT: Geo-shapes work best on curly and wavy hair because the stylist can easily mold the loose texture into different geometric shapes and sizes with distinct sharp edges.

The Smooth Lob

The pros have revamped the lob into a more shiny, smooth and sexy look for the fall season.

This cut comes off an intentional trend, labeled by most as “the new long.” It’s contemporary and nonchalant while still holding the sexiness that extended layers offer.

Smooth lob owners will need to keep a high shine on the mane and to control any flyways. So, low-maintenance folks may want to look elsewhere if post-appointment hair care is not their thing.

The Gatsby-Bob

Short hair is poised to make a comeback. A 2016 Gatsby is a cheekbone-length crop for the “It Girl,” which can be sported on many textures.

With inspiration from the classic ’20s woman, today’s Gatsby is worn in natural, wavy texture with a mischievous tousle to entice the onlookers.

One thing to note here, this bob may take a while to grow out — so, be sure it’ll work for you before your stylist starts the cut.

Enhanced, Textured Layers

Longer locks 2.0 include adding some texture-enhancing layers. Stylists this fall will be offering framed layers all around the front of the mane, which produces a lot of movement.

Owning versatile layers allow folks to wear them as they like, whether its girl-next-door, night-on-the-town or OMG-I-slept-in look, the sky’s the limit.

Another perk textured layers can offer is that they will assist in delivering fullness to the top of the mane — which is great for the fine-textured person who is looking for some extra liveliness in her hair.

Higher-Hair

No, this is not the 1984 Grace Jones high fade; what we’re saying, here, is that a lot of brave and vogue women this fall will be making a really big statement by adding height to their hair.

However, healthy hair is a “must” for risqué folk wanting to step into high-hair terrain. This means no chemically treated locks allowed because creating height will require some precision cutting into the sides and edges.

Hence, hair must be in super-healthy good condition, as broken ends will most-likely yield a messy and undefined stature.

The Curtain Returns: A 90s Hairstyle Comeback

I’m sure you’ve heard about the return of 90s hair trends. If not, you just have to look at Chris Hemsworth’s and Tom Cruise’s retro-locks of which inspiration arose from when casual glam-hair was in.

That’s right; we’ve noticed guys sporting young Brad Pitt, center-parted, floppy man-locks (a.k.a. curtains) around town.

And even though the peak curtains year was in 1995, after twenty years, they seemed to have rejoined the fashion parade through an unexpected 90s-wave.

However, a 2016 curtain is definitely not one of those David Beckham hair-flopping styles that you saw him flaunt during the 1998 world cup. Today’s curtains set the middle-part aside for a more hipster-grunge facade.

Let’s take a look at a few contemporary curtains that may persuade some daring guys to get back into the groove.

chris hemsworth photo

Curtains with a Frontal Flop

Young Leonardo DiCaprio stapled this hairstyle into the hearts of many teens a couple of decades ago. Nowadays, the frontal curtain is more of a medium length design where the front hair is flopped over-and-back to where Leo’s trademark middle-part once existed. The latest frontal flop allows the curtains to grow out openly on each side.

Curtains with Top Highlights

Blonde color was a celebrated feature when the male curtain first hit 90s mainstream. Today, you won’t see a lot of those Backstreet Boys frosted tips wandering around in pop-life; instead, the guys are adding smart flaxen highlights, only on the top, which gives life to their curtains by exciting the whole mane.

Curtain and ‘Slick Back’ Hair

The hipster look may be on the back nine, but slicking back the hair and adding some curtains where the man bun used to be will produce a contemporary heartthrob look. You can also add few strands of hair in the front to form a rebel-mane look that’s sure to turn a few heads at the club.

Curtains with Tapered Hair

A millions of girls went crazy when the former Disney star, Ryan Gosling, rocked his tapered curtains on 90s TV. Believe it or not, this unique hairstyle trend has made a comeback with a slight avant-garde twist. The top of the hair is kept long enough so that it elegantly collapses at the taper, which your stylist will secretly shape behind the head.

Curtains with an Undercut

Most folks wouldn’t call this a curtain hairstyle, but it’s unquestionably in 90s

, Johnny Depp, floppy-hair territory. Here, your stylist will perform a classic undercut and allow the long top to fall just above the ear. The sides and back can then be trimmed and tapered at the natural hairline to keep everything balanced.

Two Versatile Men Haircuts For Men On The Go

According to Google’s 2016 Beauty Trends report, men are increasingly interested in their hair and hair trends, but those who are looking only desire flexible hair that will style fast and work everywhere and anywhere.

So, here we go; let’s look at two versatile men’s hairstyles that have stood the test of time.

THE BUZZ CUT

buzz cut photo

Defined

This is not just short hair; it’s very short hair. Here, you can expect your stylist to pull out the grade-one or two clippers for an all-over cut.

Who should wear it?

Only men with naturally attractive faces should go for this flexible hairstyle. The buzz cut highlights and emphasizes the noggin; so, you’re gonna need a good mug to turn some heads with this look.

What to expect when sitting in the chair?

As mentioned earlier, your stylist is going to cut it all off; however, if you want to keep a little length, you can choose a number-one clipper on the sides and a number-two on top.

Also, today’s buzz cuts do not own just one homogeneous length.

This is why you can expect your stylist to pull out the scissors to create a more smoother and contemporary textured mane.

What are the style options?

Great question. What’s great about the buzz cut is the fact that, once you own it, you don’t have to spend valuable time thinking about how to show it off.

Further, the cut works for all occasions, and you can make subtle changes in texture by adding a little product.

THE TEXTURED CROP

Defined

This is not a crew cut, but it is still a short style. A vogue crop is a scissor-only cut that offers more length to play with when styling. The look suits men who aren’t handsome models because it takes focus off of the face and onto the hair.

Who should wear it?

Anyone can sport a textured crop. It’s a versatile hairstyle that leans towards the classic end of the spectrum. Free from contrast, but full of classiness and urbanity, it’s an ideal choice for the mature guy, and the cut works extremely well with finer hair too.

What to expect when sitting in the chair?

A pro-stylist will never pull out the clippers to perform a textured crop. The scissor retains the mane’s innate texture and obstructs those hard straight lines that pop up when using clippers.

Here, length is the secret. The goal is to pull off a short, but not too short look, which means the crop will call for some expertise in cropping in neat ratios from top-to-back and on the sides.

In the end, the mane should be cut just above finger-width to permit texture to be layered in.
Some stylist use point-cutting to get this done, while others may try a feather razor to create a softer finish.

What are the Style options?

The textured crop owner can cleverly mix things up to fit any occasion.

A soft side-part works well at the office or on a first date. With some water-based pomade and a spritz of hair spray, you’ll be good to go in just minutes.

For a laid-back look, a chaotic, textured finish can accommodate a Sunday brunch or heading home for the holidays.

A matte clay rub and a texturing dust spray will give these crops all the 12-hour extra-hold they’ll need in just only a few minutes after leaving the shower.
